Who We Are

S.A.F.E. Shelter (Savannah Area Family Emergency Shelter) was founded in 1979 by four local women with one powerful mission — to provide a safe haven for victims of domestic violence and their children.

Today, SAFE Shelter is Georgia’s 2nd largest emergency domestic violence shelter, offering 48 beds and state-of-the-art security to ensure every survivor’s safety.
All our services are free and focused on helping victims rebuild their lives.
