Help us make an impact in our community! Volunteers are needed to assist with traffic management and food distribution during this community event.

This is an outdoor event, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are recommended. Parking is highlighted in pink and blue is where you will be helping at.

Join Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia as we pack 1,400 Brown Bags for older adults living in 27 senior communities throughout Chatham County. Your time and compassion help ensure our senior neighbors have nutritious food and hope each month.

Hunger Action Month Challenge!

Wear your favorite orange and bring your favorite orange canned good to donate! Whether it's the color of the food (like peaches, carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, or oranges) or simply an orange-colored can or label, every donation helps fight hunger in our community.

No experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm and heart for serving others! Together, we'll pack food, spread kindness, and make a lasting impact for our senior neighbors. Because every bag packed and every can donated brings us one step closer to a hunger-free community.

The Partner Market Place provides an opportunity for our agency partners to come “shop” donated product for use at their organizations.  There is a steady stream of product coming in and its ever changing.  Volunteers will assist in ensuring donated product is available to agencies throughout the day.  Tasks will include sorting, consolidating and displaying product in the marketplace. Each day's tasks will fluctuate depending on the need, but may include sorting, consolidating and displaying product in the marketplace.  Long periods of standing, bending, lifting items up to 30 pounds and working in cooler space may be part of those tasks.  

This is a great opportunity to meet a diverse group of people who have a passion for feeding others.  These people will easily become FAMILY, as they are a part of our Second Harvest family. 

**Minimum Age is 18.  Must wear closed toe shoes.**

Thursday Afternoons 1- 3 PM

Looking for a meaningful way to give back? We’d love to have you volunteer with us! Come share your time with us on Thursday afternoons from 1-3 PM. You will be helping sort donated food, garden assistant, or packing boxes both play a vital role in getting nutritious meals into the hands of neighbors facing hunger.

Every box you sort and every minute you give truly matters. Volunteering is a hands-on, rewarding way to make an immediate impact, connect with others, and see firsthand how your time helps strengthen our community.

Bring a friend, bring your energy, and come be part of something that makes a real difference. We’re grateful for every helping hand and would love to volunteer alongside you!

Please note: Check in at the front desk and scan the QR code to sign in. We start promptly at 1 PM.  

Closed-toe shoes are required. Be sure to bring a water bottle and gloves to stay comfortable while you work. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Every box packed, every item sorted, and every minute you give helps ensure children, seniors, and families in our community have access to nutritious meals and essential support.

Grab a friend, bring your energy, and enjoy two hours of hands-on service that truly makes a difference! It’s a great way to connect with others, give back, and see the impact of your time firsthand.
