Georgia Regional Hospital in Savannah is currently accepting Internship Applications! We are a residential/acute psychiatric facility offering a wide range of services including Gardening, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy, Fitness/Recreation, Community Reintegration, Substance Abuse and much more! Come Join us! We are taking all safety measures when it comes to COVID-19 and keeping everyone safe. COVID 19 VACCINE IS REQUIRED. Masks AND face shields are required at all times on GRHS campus!
We are located on the southeastern coast, we offer a clinical learning opportunity with a vacation vibe. We are a 180 bed inpatient forensic psychiatric hospital with a co-ed adult population that treats mostly schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders, and several others.
This is an unpaid internship that does not provide housing. We accept undergraduate students from Recreation-based degree programs (Recreation Therapy, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, etc).
NCTRC approved - 560 hour minimum
Applications must be submitted for review and interviews will be scheduled
All interns must:
be over the age of 18
complete application and sign school agreement
sign HIPAA & confidentiality forms
provide a copy of transcripts
provide TB skin (PPD) test results from within the last year
provide proof of COVID 19 VACCINE
provide proof of flu vaccine (fall&spring)
complete a background check (provided by GRHS)
participate in a formal interview (either in person or via ZOOM)

Volunteer: Clothing Drive Donations OrganizersIf you are interested in advocating for Mental Health within your community, then hosting a clothing drive is a great way to give back (without having to jump through all those paperwork hoops!). GRHS has a population of 85% male and 15% female patient population, and we are consistently in need of adult clothing. The hospital provides basic items, but our patients feel more comfortable in jeans, sneakers, jackets, etc of their own. These items can be brand new or gently used. We are usually in need of male clothing the most, as well as shoes or jackets. As the seasons change so does the need. For example: October we need coats, April we need shorts. Please contact me via email if you are interested in hosting a clothing drive to gather items to meet the needs within your community. Any items we cannot, or are considered contraband for our patients, are donated to other local organizations (so no donation is wasted or thrown away!).
We do NOT accept - baby/children's clothing, underwear, socks, ties, belts, watches, miniskirts, bathing suits, flip flops.
