Needs From: United Way Volunteers

Volunteer: Disaster Action Team Specialist

The American Red Cross Volunteer Disaster Action Team brings light to one of the darkest times that any family will endure.

Disaster Action Teams (DAT) provide 24-hour emergency response to local disasters, particularly house fires, ensuring that those affected have access to resources for basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing.

We are looking for compassionate individuals that want to help families that are affected by disasters of all sizes, from home fires to hurricanes.

DAT Responders need to be able to do initial casework virtually, including over the phone and using video conferencing. We will provide training as to how to use the software, but you need to have access to a smartphone and or computer for this role and be comfortable with technology.

If you want to volunteer for the Disaster Action Team, you can apply at redcross.org/volunteer or contact us at (404)575-3749 or email: GArecruit@redcross.org. Thank you for volunteering.
