The Rape Crisis Center of the Coastal Empire will host the 8th Annual Savannah Reindeer Run 8K and Holiday Market on December 16th at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center.
The Reindeer Run is one of Savannah’s best family-oriented run events. The morning will begin with a kiddie race at 8:45, followed by the 8K at 9:00. Inside, families and runners will enjoy a kid zone, a cookie contest, food, beverages and even a visit from Santa.
The Rape Crisis Center is a local non-profit program that works to provide resources, advocacy, prevention activity and education to victims of sexual assault and their families. In addition, the organization is also responsible for anti-bullying projects, good touch/bad touch, and by-stander intervention programs in local schools and colleges.
Proceeds from the Reindeer Run will support the Prevention Education program at the Rape Crisis Center, which offers healthy relationship resources and training for local schools, colleges and organizations, including Good-Touch/Bad-Touch, Safe, Smarter Kids, Anti-Bully, Safe Dates, and Sexual Harassment curriculum.
Volunteers can expect to help with event set up and tear down, as well as assist with the various events and activities as needed. If you like to have fun while helping your community, then the Reindeer Run is the place to be for you and your family.
Some volunteers will be outside at water stations; bring umbrellas if rain is in the forecast.
