Savannah Speech & Hearing has served the community since 1958 with a mission to provide access to comprehensive speech, hearing, language and other therapeutic services that empower and transform lives.
Each year from August to November, we offer hearing screenings in our local public and private schools using simple devices called Audiometers. A child is typically screened in just 2 minutes, being given a Pass or Refer notation on their record. Referrals ensure that children who may have hearing loss are given a comprehensive audiological evaluation.
We are hosting an hour long training session at our new center on Skidaway Road near DeRenne on Wednesday, August 18th at 4pm. A training video and other materials will also be made available for any who cannot attend in person, or would like additional information.
Thank you for considering lending us a hand in this very important work! Because of school closures last year, most of our students were not screened last year, making our job this year all the more important.
