Commitment: 10-15 hours per week (flexible schedule)

GROW Initiative GA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of underserved, low-wealth, and marginalized communities, particularly individuals with disabilities and Latinos. We focus on providing equitable access to education, health and nutrition, and essential resources in a culturally inclusive manner.

Position Overview:We are seeking a passionate and creative Bilingual (Spanish/English) Communications Specialist Volunteer to support our mission by creating impactful content and fostering engagement with our diverse community. This role is perfect for someone who is excited to use their communication skills to promote equity and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and manage engaging, culturally and linguistically inclusive content for GROW Initiative GA’s social media platforms (in both Spanish and English).
  • Translate newsletters, press releases, and community announcements into equitable Spanish. (Training provided)
  • Create culturally relevant promotional materials for events and programs.
  • Support outreach efforts by coordinating with local organizations and partners to share resources.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries and comments on digital platforms.
  • Assist in creating reports on engagement metrics and outreach success.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English): Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Experience with content creation, graphic design tools (e.g., Canva), and email marketing platforms.
  • Passionate about community engagement and serving diverse populations.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in communications, marketing, or nonprofit work is a plus but not required.
