Savannah Jazz Festival sells and serves beer and wine at Forsyth Park during 9/23 and 9/24. This is a function of fundraising for Savannah Jazz and Savannah Jazz Festival.
Beverage Servers should not accept payment for beverages. The beverage purchase must take place at the Beverage Ticket Sales Tent adjacent to the Serving Tent. These beverage tickets are exchanged for beer and wine with you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Beer and wine servers will pour and serve to attendees wearing an ‘Over 21’ wristband. This wristband must be visible to obtain all beverages.
- One ticket equals one beverage
- Set up the bar (first shift) or close it down (last shift) including restocking cups, napkins, etc.
- Refill ice, beer and wine as necessary
- Volunteers may be asked to move cases of beer and wine or supplies from one location to another
- Please do your best to keep the line to the bar orderly and quickly
- Perform your duties with a spirit of cooperation, courtesy and helpfulness
- Smile and warmly welcome the patrons to the festival
Important note: Per City of Savannah ordinance, festival goers can only get one drink per trip to the bar. Attendees can purchase multiple tickets for beer and wine in one transaction, but only redeem one ticket at a time at the bar.
SJF staff will have a sign at point of sale to explain this City Ordinance.
To make your job easier and to help represent Savannah Jazz Festival professionally, we ask you to comply with the following:
- Please wear your Jazz Fest Volunteer T-shirt to each shift
- Please bring your cell phone with you, fully charged. Put point of contact numbers in your phone.
- Don't consume alcoholic beverages during your scheduled shift.
- If you think you are missing the proper materials to effectively conduct your job, please notify a point of contact
