Faith Equestrian is looking for new Board Members with energy and a passion for their mission! Are you interested?

Faith Equestrian is a non-profit 501(c)3 PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) International Premier Accredited equestrian center located just outside of Savannah in Effingham County. We are dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with special needs and disabilities through the healing power of the horse. One rider says their first words on horseback, another has significant increases in core strength, and another is given the confidence to stand up to being bullied at school.

We offer a wide variety of programs for participants starting at age four, including an Equine-Assisted Learning Program (EAL) in partnership with local schools referred to as HorsePowered Reading, an Adaptive / Therapeutic Riding Program, Equine-Assisted Activities & Therapies (EAAT) to military veterans, able-bodied riding lessons, and numerous all-inclusive summer camp options for both special needs and able bodied participant. Due to the center being a PATH Premier Accredited Center, Faith is authorized through the Wounded Warrior Program to offer equine assisted learning and therapies to Veterans and military personnel.

Volunteer Board Members should be prepared to fulfill the following requirements:

Attend no less than 75% of regular Board Meetings. Chair and/or serve on a standing committee or special project. Make a personal and if possible business contribution to the organization’s annual operating needs. Participate in or attend most of the program activities involving the operation. Arrange for and/or make an organization presentation to a civic club, church group, business associate, or group of friends. Make at least five person-to-person visits to individuals, foundations, businesses, or civic groups to request financial contribution for the organization. Invite and accompany a friend or associate to visit the facility. Recommend a potential candidate for Board membership to the Board Development Committee. Secure a volunteer, in-kind service or material goods for the organization. Review and consider your capacity and willingness to make a planned gift or bequest to the organization. Secure at least 4 new donors for the organization. Actively assist with the special events of the organization.
