Volunteer: 1st Brown Bag packing for the Elderly 2026 New Year, Full Plates! January 10, 2026

2026 New Year, Full Plates!

Help us fill bags—and hearts—with gratitude this season. We need dedicated volunteers like you to help pack food bags for our Brown Bag for the Elderly program. This important initiative ensures local seniors have enough food to last through the end of the month.

Let’s start the new year strong by giving back to our community! You can help by:

Volunteering to pack bags for seniors

Bringing a canned good (vegetables, beans, or soup are especially helpful) to help stock our marketplace shelves

To add a little fun, we’ll also be leaving a kind, hopeful New Year’s message in each bag. Feel free to wear your favorite team jersey or some great sparkle, lets ring in the New Year will a servant heart!

Brown Bag Saturday: January 10, 2026

Start Time: 9:00 AM

Please arrive by: 8:30 AM for sign-in & orientation

Shift Duration: ~3 hours or until packing is complete

Parking: Available in front of the building, with overflow parking to the right.

Closed-toe shoes required (no sandals or open-toed footwear)

Dress appropriately for warehouse work

Bring a water bottle or refillable container – water is also available on-site

Who Can Volunteer?

Ages 12–15 are welcome with an adult chaperone who stays the entire shift

Registration is required

Your time and support make a real difference. Join us this January to help provide essential nutrition—and a little cheer—to seniors in need!

Volunteer: Spend the 1st Saturday of each month helping change lives!

Join Us on First Saturdays!

Looking for a meaningful way to give back? We’d love to have you join us on the first Saturday of each month from 1–3 PM as we sort donated food and help prepare it for neighbors facing hunger.

Every box you sort and every minute you give helps ensure families in our community have access to nutritious meals.

Grab a friend, bring your energy, and enjoy two hours of hands-on service that truly makes a difference. It’s a great way to connect, give back, and see the impact of your time firsthand!

Please note: Closed-toe shoes are required. Be sure to bring a water bottle and gloves to stay comfortable while you work. We can’t wait to volunteer alongside you!

Volunteer: Partner Market Place - PM shift

The Partner Market Place provides an opportunity for our agency partners to come “shop” donated product for use at their organizations.  There is a steady stream of product coming in and its ever changing.  Volunteers will assist in ensuring donated product is available to agencies throughout the day.  Tasks will include sorting, consolidating and displaying product in the marketplace. Each day's tasks will fluctuate depending on the need, but may include sorting, consolidating and displaying product in the marketplace.  Long periods of standing, bending, lifting items up to 30 pounds and working in cooler space may be part of those tasks.

This is a great opportunity to meet a diverse group of people who have a passion for feeding others.  These people will easily become FAMILY, as they are a part of our Second Harvest family.

**Minimum Age is 18.  Must wear closed toe shoes.**
