Get Your Earth Day On!

Come be part of something meaningful, local, and energizing. Join us (Effingham Georgia Green - EGG) in the fourth annual Earth Day Festival in Guyton, Georgia, April 25, 2026. Enjoy dozens of exhibitor and vendor booths, live music, hands-on activities, GIANT Insect parade, “Egg” hunt, and immersive experiences. We’re gearing up for an amazing Earth Day Festival, and we’d love to have you on the volunteer team.

Volunteer Opportunities
You can sign up for one or more roles and choose a shift that fits your comfort level—from a minimum of two hours to helping throughout the festival, including set‑up and break‑down. There’s truly something for everyone. (Volunteers younger than 16 bring a guardian.) Opportunities include:

Festival set‑up and break‑down: pop‑up tents, tables, displays and interactives Visitor engagement: welcoming guests, handing out “Quest” cards, and helping with prize distribution Data collection: counting visitors and recording information EGG booth education support: assisting with operation of the light pollution, sound pollution, water pollution, Native American gardening, plant exchange, and market booths Activity support: assisting with (or joining!) the GIANT Insect Parade and the “Water Drop” (Egg) hunt

This year’s theme is, “Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink”, examining a critical resource in Effingham County.

Our Volunteer Meeting is Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 2 – 4 PM at United Way, 711 Zitterour Rd, Rincon, GA 31326. Please RSVP anytime between now and April 15 so we can plan.

At the meeting, you’ll get a fun overview of the festival, hands‑on training for six EGG booth activities, and a chance to meet fellow volunteers of all ages who care about community and the environment.  During the meeting, volunteers will be able to select the areas they’d like to work in and choose the times they’re available. We can’t wait to see you there!
