GROW Initiative GA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of underserved, low-wealth, and marginalized communities, particularly individuals with disabilities and Latinos. We focus on providing equitable access to education, health and nutrition, and essential resources in a culturally inclusive manner.

Position Overview:We are seeking a passionate and creative Bilingual (Spanish/English) Communications Specialist Volunteer to support our mission by creating impactful content and fostering engagement with our diverse community. This role is perfect for someone who is excited to use their communication skills to promote equity and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities: 

Develop and manage engaging, culturally and linguistically inclusive content for GROW Initiative GA’s social media platforms (in both Spanish and English).Translate newsletters, press releases, and community announcements into equitable Spanish. (Training provided)Create culturally relevant promotional materials for events and programs.Support outreach efforts by coordinating with local organizations and partners to share resources.Monitor and respond to inquiries and comments on digital platforms.Assist in creating reports on engagement metrics and outreach success.

Qualifications:

Bilingual (Spanish/English): Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).Experience with content creation, graphic design tools (e.g., Canva), and email marketing platforms.Passionate about community engagement and serving diverse populations.Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.Prior experience in communications, marketing, or nonprofit work is a plus but not required.

Bilingual Reception Volunteer Position Effingham & Chatham

GROW Initiative GA is seeking compassionate bilingual volunteers to greet  participants, welcome visitors, and serve as the first point of contact for people reaching out to our organization.  GROW Initiative GA is dedicated to improving the lives of underserved, low-wealth, and marginalized individuals by promoting community engagement, equity, and access to essential resources in education, health and nutrition, and overall well-being. Our mission is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to lead a healthy, fulfilling life, regardless of their socio-economic status or background. We value inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration, working tirelessly to foster a sense of belonging and empowerment within the communities we serve. Through innovative programs and strategic partnerships, we aim to create sustainable change and build stronger, more resilient communities. 

Responsibilities:  

Greet participants and visitors with a friendly and welcoming demeanor. Assist participants by providing program information, making appointments, and connecting them with the appropriate staff members. Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area. Answer and direct incoming phone calls, and text messages in a professional manner. Take messages and relay information accurately to the appropriate parties. Coordinate and implement program registration and support as needed.Assist with participant intake processPrepare necessary items for participant meetingsWork closely with Grow Initiative GA staff to address immediate needs and concerns. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a seamless flow of information.  

Time Commitment 

Flexible scheduling options are available. We ask that you make a commitment of 8 -20 hours per week, depending on your availability and participants’ needs.
