Jun 21, 2024 to Jul 26, 2024
Made available through Bryan County Family Connection (BCFC) and Bryan County, the summer food service program is a federally funded operation providing free breakfast and lunch to children 18 years old and under who qualify for the free and reduced school lunch program. The summer food service program ensures children have sufficient nutrition during the summer, non-school months, and is expected to serve upwards of 15,000 meals across five distribution sites.
The United Way of the Coastal Empire looks to promote year-round reading through the help of volunteer readers. This is where you come in!
PROJECT:
On June 21st, July 12th, and July 26th we will need (1) volunteer to read to children at the locations listed below in Bryan County.
On July 12th, we will need volunteers for (6) locations and each location will need (1) volunteer to read to children for 30 minutes and assist with a book giveaway. We will need a total of (6) volunteers for July 12th only.
This (30) minute commitment will help to enrich these children throughout the summer and give them something to look forward to each Friday. Books will be provided by the United Way so all we would need is a volunteer to read!
