Who We Are

DUETkids provides no cost music education, instruments and digital music creation for underserved and at risk students.

Where there is Need, let there be Provision ~

What We Do

DUETkids Provides K-8 Students in at risk, underserved, schools, low income communities, children’s centers, faith based venues, after school programs and summer camps, with no cost private musical instruments and choir lessons. These lessons include music theory and performance technique and instrumentation lessons in piano, voice, trumpet, drums and guitar. DUETkids also provides at no cost, instruments for in class and at home student use. For our high school students, we offer community services hours required for graduation, pedagogy classes, paid work experience, job skills training, and entrepreneurship opportunities.

This program’s mission is to provide no cost lessons to elementary students through our Student Teaching Students Initiative. We plan to expand our teacher pool to include community volunteers and college age students, professional musicians and band members. The goal is to get an instrument into an elementary child’s life, when their brain is developing, to help heal and increase the capacity to learn in a child who may have a trauma affected or ACE (adverse childhood experience) background. Studies have, and consistently continue to prove the healing power of learning an instrument, increase capacity to learn complex subjects in school, increase test scores and create new synapse and connections in a child’s developing brain.
