Description

There is no place like coastal Georgia. Precious, vulnerable and ours to conserve. For nearly 58 years, the Georgia Conservancy, with the support of individuals like you, has passionately worked to protect and conserve coastal Georgia. With celebration in our hearts and the future of Georgia’s coast on our minds, we invite you to our annual Oyster Roast, hosted at Grove Point in Savannah on Saturday, February 22. The Oyster Roast will feature local oysters and clams from Sapelo Sea Farms, live music, Georgia-brewed beer from Creature Comforts Brewing Co., and much more!

Each volunteer is asked to arrive by 11:30 AM to help with the set-up, for a brief orientation, and for a pizza lunch provided by the Georgia Conservancy. After the event kicks off each volunteer will be asked to work a single 2-hour and 15 min shift at one of the many volunteer "sites" for the day. Before and after your shift is complete you are encouraged to enjoy all the Oyster Roast has to offer! Volunteer shifts and time slots will be handed out at the volunteer orientation. You will be assigned one of the following roles: Parking Attendending, Draft Trailer, VIP Area, Registration, Merch, Catering Line, Rovers, and Oyster Team (please let us know if you are able-bodied and able to team carry 50lb baskets of oysters)
