Description

My name is Lauren Olsen and I am currently an intern with United Way Volunteers! Originally from Upstate New York, I am currently studying Health Policy and Management in an effort to receive my Masters in Public Health from the University of Albany. I am thrilled to be in Savannah to experience a new culture and acquire some insight on the different aspects of community health in Georgia!

As part of my degree and an attempt to better understand Savannah’s programs and community resources, I am organizing a Community Advocacy Panel event to address the ever growing homeless population in Chatham County. My hope is that through this panel, we can define ways to create a greater awareness for your programs for both the general public and homeless population, and obtain more community support in efforts to decrease the health implications associated with homelessness.

The panel event will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 10-11 AM at United Way located at 428 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401.

Local nonprofits with participating panelists:

· Union Mission

· Park Place Outreach

· Emmaus House

· Chatham Safety Net

· J.C. Lewis

· The Salvation Army

This event is open to the public and I encourage your attendance! I hope to see you there!
