Calling all volunteers who are handy with home repairs!
United Way has partnered with Senior Citizens Inc. and the City of Savannah Housing and Neighborhood Services to provide home repairs for lower income Savannah senior homeowners. We can coordinate the home repairs based on your skill set. All materials are provided, we just need volunteers who are skilled in home repairs, construction, or other related crafts. We need help with the following:
House 1:
- General HVAC Work
- Install new insulated ducts and connect to existing HVAC system
House 2:
- General Ceiling Work – Remove existing ceiling surface material and installation of sheetrock
- Prepare ceiling surface for paint, apply primer to ceiling surface, apply texture ceiling finish on ceiling surface and paint ceiling surface with flat paint
House 3:
- General Door Work – installing door lockset & hardware
- Ceiling work – preparing ceiling surface for paint, applying primer to ceiling surface, applying texture ceiling finish on ceiling and painting ceiling surface with flat paint.
House 4:
- General door work – installation of a new stormdoor with sliding glass panel, installing a new exterior sliding glass door
- Plumbing – install a new toilet for person with disability
- General electrical work – install a new electric plug-in and wiring
