Purpose: A Saturday Market Take-Down Volunteer is to assist Forsyth Farmers’ Market Vendors in dismantling and taking down their booths at the end of the market. The volunteer assistance will ensure all vendor are able to clean up their booths in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist vendors dismantle their booths at the end of the market. Will include assisting with taking down tents, tables and putting remaining produce/products away for transportation
- Take-down vendor signs from tables and walk-way
- Assist vendors in organizing their equipment/remaining product to ensure smooth transportation home
Length of Volunteer Shift: Each take-down shift will take place every Saturday from 12:00-2 pm. Total volunteer hours will be 2 for this shift.
Time Commitment: Individuals can choose to sign up as recurring volunteers or one time volunteers. Forsyth Farmers’ Market does not require a time commitment for their volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Should be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Should be able to be on their feet, standing and walking around for the duration of two hours
Support: There is no training for the position. Each Saturday the volunteer checks in at the Forsyth Farmers’ Market information tent to be assigned a vendor to work with or tasks to complete. If there are questions, concerns, or issues during the shift, the Programs director, Market Operations Coordinator and/or Program & Development VISTA will be available to assist the volunteer.
Age Requirement: 16 and older
Dress Code: Respectful and comfortable clothing. You will be outside the entire time. Please dress according to the weather. Please wear comfortable closed-toed shoes as you will be walking around a lot on pavement and grass.
