Position Summary
The Laundry Volunteer plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and dignified environment for Day Center guests by assisting with the washing, drying, folding, and distribution of clothing.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold client clothing and shelter linens
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area
- Accept and label laundry with client name and date received
- Ensure proper handling of linens, including bedding and towels
- Assist with distributing clean clothing and linens to guests as needed
- Monitor laundry supplies and notify staff when items are running low
- Follow safety and sanitation guidelines when operating laundry equipment
Qualifications
- Ability to perform light to moderate physical activity (standing, lifting, bending)
- Dependable and able to work independently
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Respectful, compassionate, and nonjudgmental attitude toward individuals experiencing homelessness
- Must be at least [insert age requirement, if applicable]

- Familiarity with laundry equipment
