Help restore dignity and hope by serving our neighbors experiencing homelessness at Union Mission's Resource Center. As a Shower & Hospitality Assistant, you'll help ensure guests have access to clean, safe shower facilities while creating a welcoming environment where every person is treated with compassion and respect.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and assist with the shower sign-in process.
- Prepare shower rooms by stocking clean towels, toiletries, and hygiene supplies.
- Clean and sanitize shower facilities between guests and throughout your shift.
- Sweep, mop, wipe down surfaces, and help maintain a clean and sanitary shower area.
- Assist with laundering towels and replenishing supplies as needed.
- Help create a safe, organized, and dignified experience for every guest.
- Interact with guests in a friendly, respectful, and nonjudgmental manner while maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements:
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
- Comfortable performing light cleaning and sanitation tasks.
- Able to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Dependable, compassionate, and committed to serving individuals experiencing homelessness.
- No experience is necessary—training will be provided.
