As a Meal Serving Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in serving nutritious and satisfying meals to individuals in need. Your responsibilities will involve assisting in the distribution and clean-up of meals at the Parkers House. This volunteer position offers you an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those who may be working to move on to stable housing. Volunteers strengthen the well-being of the residents through fellowship and social interaction. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have an adult supervisor with them at all times.
TASKS:

Meal Distribution:
- Help with the setup of serving stations and dining areas.
- Greet and welcome clients in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Serve meals to individuals ensuring that proper portions are distributed.

Interact and Engage:
- Interact with the clients with empathy and kindness.
- Be attentive to their needs, offer a listening ear, and provide support when required.

Maintain Order and Safety:
- Ensure order and discipline during meal service to create a positive and comfortable atmosphere.
- Address any issues or concerns in a professional and respectful manner.

Clean-up and Sanitization:
- Assist in clearing tables, collecting used dishes, and cleaning the dining area after meal service.
- Follow sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with other volunteers, staff, and coordinators to ensure smooth meal service operations.
- Communicate any challenges or suggestions to improve the meal serving process.

- Respect the privacy and confidentiality of the individuals you serve, and refrain from sharing personal information without cons
ESSENTIAL:
- Age: Volunteers must be of legal age, or the minimum age required by the organization, to participate in meal serving activities.
- Physical Abilities: Ability to stand for extended periods, carry trays, and perform light lifting when necessary.
- Interpersonal Skills: Compassion, empathy, and good communication skills are essential to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds respectfully.
- Time Commitment: Be punctual and committed to the agreed-upon schedule for meal serving shifts.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing situations and tasks as needed during meal service.
- Compliance: Follow the organization's policies, procedures, and guidelines throughout the volunteer service.
