Skills-based volunteering (SBV) uses the expertise, talents, training and developed abilities of individuals to help nonprofits deliver on their mission. For example, skills-based volunteering could incorporate mentoring a student interested in your field of work, judging a science fair, or serving on a nonprofit board. Volunteers with a special skill from their profession or otherwise are invited to share their gift by signing up for a need below. Local nonprofit organizations are encouraged to share their skilled volunteer needs by selecting the "Skilled Volunteer" initiative when creating a need.
