Savannah Speech & Hearing has offered free hearing screenings to our community since 1954.
Hearing screenings are essential to identifying hearing loss and ensuring that it be properly addressed.
Join us in offering these simple screenings in our local schools. We cannot do it without the help of volunteers!
- Screenings are conducted with simple, portable audiometers. The use of these audiometers is explained in a quick training in person and/or with this video: https://youtu.be/H339wd9XuoY.
- Screenings are done Monday through Thursday mornings from August - November at public and private schools throughout Chatham County. Volunteer one day or several - all help is appreciated!
- All screenings are arranged and supervised by staff of the Savannah Speech & Hearing Center - you will not be on your own!
Prior to assignment, a no cost mandatory background check will be done. Additional information may be requested.
