Living Independence for Everyone (LIFE), Inc. would like to invite you to volunteer for our Second Annual Celebrate Abilities Wheelchair Cleaning and Resource Fair on April 13th, from 10:00 – 2:00 at Windsor Forest High School located on Largo Drive.
Last year’s event brought 150 people together, including registered attendees, vendors, volunteers, LIFE staff and board members. Between informative presentations, adaptive sports demonstrations and multiple gift card drawings, Celebrate Abilities offered a plethora of opportunities for participants to gather information and enjoy food and fellowship.
We look forward to building off last year’s success with an even bigger Celebrate Abilities event this year! We’ve expanded our annual wheelchair cleaning, an event that we’ve successfully put on for 21 years, into a cross-disability event featuring displays from other organizations and agencies which provide our consumers with their supports. The expanded space of the High School provides ample room to showcase the community resources available for individuals with disabilities. With booths offering insights into a diverse range of goods and services, our Celebrate Abilities Resource Fair will be an educational day, but also one of family fun and food for the attendees. This empowering event will provide the individuals in our community with the tools they need to live independent lives in our community.
Eighty-three percent of people with disabilities acquire their disability(ies) during their working lives and most don't know where to start to look for information about available supports. Our event will answer this challenge by highlighting a range of services that assist individuals in becoming as independent as they can and want to be. These services will include assistive technology and recreational exhibitions, information on various support groups. Overall the event will offer something for everyone and we would like for you to join us!
Date and time of the event: Saturday, April 13th 10:00 – 2:00
