Volunteer Job Title: Volunteer Group at bootleg Farm
Purpose: A group of volunteers will be working with Richard who is the owner of Bootleg Farm. The volunteers will be working on projects around the farm that require physical labor that is outside. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet for several hours outside in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist Richard with physical labor jobs to upgrade her farm. Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs.
Length of Volunteer Shift: The group will be at Bootleg Farm for 6 hours. The amount of hours is subject to change. It will be updated in United Way Volunteer Portal as we get closer to the day.
Time Commitment: The group will sign up for the entire length of the shift. The projects will need all volunteers there for the whole time.
Qualifications:
- Should be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Should be able to be on their feet, standing and walking around outside in the woods in all weather conditions for the duration of six hours
- Perform physical activity to help clear ground in preparation for a fence and working in their garden
Support: There is no training for the position. The volunteer group will check in with the FFM Program & Development VISTA and Richard on the day of volunteering. Richard will assign the tasks and ensure the project is being completed to his standards. The FFM Program & Development VISTA will be around during the volunteer shift to help answer questions and provide assistance if needed.
Age Requirement: All members of the group should be 18 and older
Dress Code: Respectful and comfortable clothing. You will be outside near woods the entire time, performing hard physical labor. Please dress according to the weather. Please wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes as you will be walking around and lifting heaving items. Please ensure to wear bug spray and sunscreen as the farm is located near a wooded area with a lot of bugs. Hat and sunglasses are welcomed if the volunteers wish to wear them. Please bring water to ensure you stay hydrated.
Note: This volunteer position is for 15 people. A group or individuals are welcome to sign up. Everyone in the group will be required to sign up via the United Way Volunteer Portal and sign a volunteer confidentiality form. All volunteers are required to find their own transportation to Whippoorwill Farms.
