In August, the United Way of the Coastal Empire will host an exhibition of new works by Amiri Geuka Farris. These pieces will be on display at their central office, 428 Bull Street from August 23-August 31. With a goal to make his art more accessible to the public, Mr. Farris is partnering with local organizations and places like United Way to display his art at no cost to visitors. The purpose of this is to bring art more into the community.
VOLUNTEER NEED:
To help facilitate this show, the United Way is seeking 1 docent per day to greet visitors at the front door and share general information about the show. All information will be provided when you arrive; a love of art is welcome but no experience is required to volunteer in this role. There will be a chair for sitting in-between visitors.

This exhibition of new works by Amiri Geuka Farris is comprised of paintings, assemblages and multimedia works that take you on an introspective journey, deep into the artist’s view of a seasons of active conscience. Each piece, is an unfiltered look into the artist's reality, as seen through the prism of hues, culture, memory and perceptions on the artist view of ensemble. The artist comments on what it’s like to be at this time and space making new connections and collaboration.
These works create a dialogue surrounding the human experience and how we connect to one another and nature as we continue to learn, evolve and grow.
