As we revive the blog here, we thought it might be best to dedicate the first few entries to navigating the site and getting the most from it as a potential volunteer. As such, I'd like to take this entry to cover your volunteer dashboard! Since it's your homepage when you log into our Volunteers Portal, it's only right that it gets covered first. The Dashboard is designed to give you a quick update on all thing's volunteerism around the Coastal Empire! It also gives you a quick look into your personal volunteer contributions.
This is the heart of the dashboard: all the important information regarding your volunteerism is displayed right here. You can see the impact you've made quantified in volunteer hours and a dollar amount. You can also see how many needs you've responded to and a link to the agencies you've fanned. To the right is a breakdown of your volunteer hours by your interests-see if you favor one above the others! Speaking of interests, those directly influence what you see below your 'Volunteer Snapshot' in the 'Suggested Needs' section. These are also based on agencies you've 'fanned' so be sure both your interests and your fanned agencies are as accurate as possible!
If the recommended needs don't jump out at you, keep scrolling to see some of the most recently added agencies. Feel free to click on these agencies to see if they align with your interests and have volunteer opportunities! To the right of the newest agencies are some of the most recent needs; the best way to volunteer immediately! These are needs that agencies have just posted and are often needed right away. Though be sure to click on the need for more information as it may be the case that the need doesn't start right away.
The Dashboard is the hub of your volunteerism, it has all the doors you would need to open to find the right volunteer opportunity for you! It can connect you with current volunteer needs, nonprofit agencies, and all the stats that put into numbers the feeling of making a difference!
