Savannah Children's Museum was unveiled in 2012 as an adaptive reuse project in the old Central of Georgia Railway Carpentry Shop in downtown Savannah. The entirely outdoor museum features over a dozen exhibits designed to expand the imaginations children, including an exploration maze, a reading nook, and a sensory garden.
Savannah Children's Museum has since become a staple for many local Savannah families. For the first time, Coastal Heritage Society will be holding a concert event to fund raise for the museum.Savannah Children's Museum Benefit Concert will take place at the roundhouse at Georgia State Railroad Museum on the evening of September 30th. We will be hosting two local Savannah bands, Bottles & Cans and The Accomplices, as well as two local food trucks, Dark Shark Tacos and Frankie and Flynns. All proceeds of the event will benefit the ongoing expansion and operation of Savannah Children's Museum.
Volunteers are needed to help with various tasks including admitting guests, assisting with band needs, helping in the parking lot, and monitoring the crowd. All volunteers must submit a CHS volunteer application and are subject to background screenings. Volunteers for this event must be at least 18 years
