The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire is seeking community-minded volunteers to participate in our upcoming 28-hour Virtual General Civil Mediation Training, March 3–6, 2026. This interactive training equips volunteers with the skills to help our local courts and community members resolve conflicts constructively—reducing stress for those involved, easing the burden on the court system, and strengthening our community.
Participants will learn practical skills in communication, negotiation, and problem-solving, and those who complete the training will have the opportunity to volunteer as mediators assisting with court-referred and community disputes in Chatham County. No prior mediation experience is required—just a commitment to listening, fairness, and helping others find common ground.
Once the training and practicum requirements are complete, volunteers will be registered with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.
