Who We Are

The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire is 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to providing opportunities for voluntary and court-mandated mediation of disputes where disputing parties can seek alternatives to litigation. Through the process of mediation, parties are given the opportunity to come together and seek a mutual agreement that helps solve the dispute.

Our Center also offers several training opportunities and classes for the Savannah Community in the following areas:

Civil/Domestic Mediation Training

Why do our volunteer mediators love their job? Because they work with ordinary people who step up and work hard in good faith to resolve their disputes! Mediators enjoy the privilege of helping people work out their problems in a positive and productive way. Mediators get to see the end of the story where ordinary people make extraordinary efforts. To learn more visit: https://mediationsavannah.com/training/

Peer Mediation Training

Our Peer Mediation Program utilizes our greatest sustainable asset…our young people! We train 4th – 12th-grade students in Savannah-area schools (public and private) to mediate disputes between other students to reduce the number of fights and consequences – such as suspensions and expulsions – which threaten the peace of our schools and the future of our students. To learn more about our Peer Mediation Training or to find out more regarding additional youth programs we provide visit: https://mediationsavannah.com/youth-programs/

Restorative Conferencing

Restorative Conferencing brings people together by providing space to discuss harm. Together, participants discuss the incident, share their feelings and experiences, and work together to create a community with a greater sense of connection, accountability, empathy, and an inclusive path forward. Complete the application below to state your interest in volunteering with our Center and attending the next training session.   To request a restorative conferencing session or to learn more about training to become a volunteer facilitator visit:   https://mediationsavannah.com/training/restorativeconferencing/
