The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire is currently seeking Restorative Conferencing Facilitators.
Restorative Conferencing is a restorative justice process for members of the community and parties affected by an incident to discuss what occurred, identify how they were affected and work together to define a better path forward.
These volunteers will help resolve conflict in local schools by facilitating Community Conferences and divert students from the juvenile court system. Free training is available.
-Facilitate Community Conferences in local schools, guiding participants through the restorative process.
-Create a safe and inclusive environment for all parties to share their perspectives and feelings.
-Help identify the issues contributing to conflicts and work towards collaborative solutions.
-Support students in developing accountability and understanding the impact of their actions.
-Collaborate with educators, counselors, and community organizations to ensure successful outcomes.
