Position Overview: A Clothing Closet Volunteer is an essential role that operates a clothing closet or clothing donation program. The primary responsibility of a Clothing Closet Volunteer is to assist in managing and organizing the clothing closet, helping individuals in need access appropriate clothing items, and maintaining a welcoming and respectful environment for clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Clothing Organization: Sort, categorize, and organize donated clothing items based on size, gender, and type. Keep the clothing closet tidy and well-maintained for easy accessibility.

  2. Client Assistance: Greet and assist clients visiting the clothing closet, helping them find suitable clothing items based on their needs and preferences.

  3. Donations Processing: Accept and process incoming clothing donations, ensuring they meet the organization's guidelines for cleanliness and usability.

  4. Clothing Distribution: Assist clients in selecting clothing items and guide them through the process of accessing the clothing closet respectfully and discreetly.

  5. Client Support: Offer a compassionate and understanding approach to clients, ensuring they feel valued and respected while accessing the clothing closet.

  6. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff to accomplish common goals and improve the efficiency of the clothing closet operations.

  7. Data Entry: Record relevant information, such as the number of clients served, types of clothing distributed, and any other necessary data for reporting and evaluation purposes.

  8. Promote Community Outreach: Assist in promoting the clothing closet's services to the local community to raise awareness and encourage donations.
